ARLINGTON, Texas — October 14, 2026
An estimated 80,000 Christians filled AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Oct. 10 for an evening centered on corporate prayer, worship, repentance, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Led by Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell and Atlanta-based 2819 Church, ACCESS — That Powerful Hour of Prayer brought believers together inside the home of the Dallas Cowboys while Christians elsewhere were encouraged to pray during the same hour. The Christian Post reported that all free tickets had been claimed in just eight hours.
80,000 Christians Gather for Prayer at AT&T Stadium
The official AT&T Stadium description framed ACCESS around three themes: The Cross, The Warning and The Cry—proclaiming salvation through Christ’s death and resurrection, calling people to repentance and uniting believers in prayer.
The event followed ACCESS 2025 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, which The Christian Post reported drew more than 30,000 people. This year, the gathering moved to the much larger AT&T Stadium.
Key details from the gathering include:
- An estimated 80,000 believers gathered at AT&T Stadium.
- Free tickets were reportedly claimed within eight hours.
- The central program included approximately one hour of corporate prayer.
- The Christian Post reported an additional 45 minutes of worship.
- Prayer focused on families, cities, the nation and people turning to Christ.
- Believers outside the stadium were also invited to participate from across the country.
Pastors Describe a Night Focused on Prayer
Ed Newton, senior pastor of Community Bible Church in San Antonio, attended the gathering and described the experience in a Facebook post cited by The Christian Post.
Newton said the evening included “a solid hour of prayer” and worship as believers pleaded for their families, cities and nations to turn to Christ.
Lakepointe Church Senior Pastor Josh Howerton also attended, saying he was grateful to witness the gathering and describing the crowd as 80,000 people united in prayer.
“This is not centered around a man. It’s centered around a movement. I’m just a face at the center of the movement. But it’s all about the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Philip Anthony Mitchell
Mitchell made that statement in an interview with The Dallas Weekly before ACCESS. He said his goal was not merely to draw a large crowd but to see participants leave more committed to Christ and less comfortable with what he called “lukewarm Christianity.”
Attendees Describe Fellowship Before the Doors Opened
Air1 interviewed 2819 Church members Nikkita and Darius Barksdale, who traveled to the gathering and said prayer began even while crowds waited outside.
“People were outside singing. People were outside praying, ”Nikkita Barksdale told Air1. Inside, she said Mitchell reminded attendees that they had not gathered for a show or concert but to pray.
Air1 reported that ACCESS traces its roots to a prayer gathering of only a handful of people in a home more than a decade ago. What began in a small setting eventually grew into this year’s stadium gathering.
2819 Church Draws Strong Young-Adult Following
The gathering also reflects the rapid growth of 2819 Church. RELEVANT reported that the Atlanta congregation has grown from fewer than 200 attendees in 2023 to more than 6,000 weekly, with tens of thousands more watching online. The church takes its name from Matthew 28:19, Christ’s Great Commission to make disciples.
Mitchell told The Dallas Weekly that many younger Christians are searching for faith that is rooted in Biblical Truth rather than performance or cultural compromise. He describes his preaching as expository and centered on Scripture.
A Crowd Is Not the Final Measure of Revival
A stadium filled with Christians is encouraging, but Scripture reminds believers that revival cannot ultimately be measured by crowd size.
God calls His people to humble themselves, pray, repent and walk faithfully with Him. Acts 4:31 records that after the early believers prayed, “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
The lasting question is therefore not simply whether 80,000 people gathered for prayer—but whether believers leave determined to obey Christ, proclaim His Gospel, and live lives transformed by His Word.
That is worth praying for—not only in Texas, but across America.
PRAY FOR REVIVAL IN AMERICA
Pray that believers across the nation will return to Scripture, seek God earnestly, repent of compromise and boldly proclaim salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
POSTA PRAYER IN AMERICA’S PRAYER ROOM
Then discover opportunities to gather with other believers seeking God for awakening across our nation.
